Hajj 2019: Lagos Commence Weekend Lecture

The Lagos state Muslim pilgrims boards said it will commence annual weekend lecture in the 20 local government secretariats across the state on Saturday, 11th May

This disclosure was made by the Board Secretary, Lagos State Muslim Welfare Board Mr. Rahman Ishola while briefing the schedule officers assigned to each local government on the next level of the year 2019 hajj exercise.

The weekend lecture is designed to educate and sensitize the intending pilgrims on the do’s and don’ts of the hajj exercise and the basic tenets of Islam.

According to the Board Secretary, the main goal and objective of the Hajj exercise should be properly inculcated and communicated to the pilgrims to ensure a hitch free hajj exercise.

Mr. Ishola advised the coordinators to be courteous and receptive towards the intending pilgrims in carrying out their duties and avoid conflict of interest amongst them.

The Board Secretary further stated that Islamic scholars will be assigned to each local government and they are to educate the pilgrims on the spiritual aspect of the Hajj exercise while the coordinators are to enlighten the pilgrims on the specifics of Hajj in terms of behaviour and manner expected of them.

Meanwhile, the pilgrims have been urge to balance their Hajj fare in order to have a smooth and secure hajj operation.

“Intending pilgrims who are still interested to perform hajj with the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board are still have the opportunity to obtain form”, he said.
