2021 Hajj Cancellation: Katsina to refund pilgrims deposit, calls for understanding

Katsina state pilgrims welfare board said it has formally received the news of the cancellation of Hajj for international pilgrims for 2021 season from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The Cancellation of Hajj for international pilgrims for two years in a row is as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the emergence of new variants.

 

The PRO of the board, Badaru Karofi in a statement on Wednesday said ” the Katsina state pilgrims welfare board respects the decision of the Saudi Arabian authorities no matter how painful it may for Hajj administrators as well as intending pilgrims”.

 

Karofi said the state Government as well as the Board “wishes to sympathize with the intending Pilgrims of Hajj 2020 and 2021 and all Stakeholders”.

 

He also states that the board is making arrangements to refund any depositor who may wish to request to collect their deposit.

“The board will however give further information on those who may wish to roll over their money to Hajj 2022 in due course, ” he said.
