Intending Pilgrims from the Federal Capital Territory for this year’s Hajj have been charged to be good ambassadors of the territory while in the holy land.
The FCT minister of state, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu made the call on Friday during the farewell ceremony marking the airlift of the FCT contingent to Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Ramatu emphasized the need for the intending pilgrims to pray for the country to overcome its challenges.
The minister stated that the administration has secured a befitting accommodation for the pilgrims in #Makkah that would enable them perform their five daily prayers in the holy mosque.
In his speech at the occasion, the Director of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Muhammad Nasiru Danmallam disclosed that the Board has conducted phases of education and orientation exercises to prepare the intending pilgrims for the Journey.
The Director said the Board has concluded all necessary arrangements to facilitate their trip for the Hajj.
About 2000 intending pilgrims from the FCT are expected to partake in the pilgrimage this year after the covid 19 pandemic.
