Press Release

The Executive Secretary Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Idris Ahmad Al-Makura, says out of the 684 Hajj seats NAHCON allocated to the state, over 600 intending pilgrims have so far deposited N2.5 million each.

He disclosed this during an emergency meeting with Local Government and Development Areas Hajj Coordinators across the state in Lafia.

According to Mallam Idris Al-Makura, the board has not registered new intending pilgrims over the last two years, noting that the over 600 pilgrims who completed their payment were part of the rollover pilgrims.

He stressed the need for those who are yet to complete their fares to do so or lose their chances, as the board has concluded arrangements to close collection of Hajj fare from depositors.

The pilgrims boss warned staff and Hajj coordinators against any fraudulent act capable of denting the good image of the board during the Hajj preparations.

Al-Makura urged all intending pilgrims to attend enlightenment campaign in their various local government areas and development areas for more awareness on Hajj activities.
