… Inaugurates 17-Man Team Thursday
Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has approved the appointment of a 17-man government delegation for the 2022 Hajj operation.
Headed by the Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly (SOHA), Rt. Hon. Aminu Manya Achida, who will be the Amirul Hajj, the group has Hon. Justice Muhammad Sa’idu Sifawa, the Chief Judge of the state, Hon. Shuaibu Sodangi Achida, the Grand Khadi of the state, Hon. Abdullahi Balarabe Salame, member House of Representatives, Senator Bello Jibrin Gada, Hon. Bello Aliyu Goronyo, the state People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman and Prof. Aisha Madawaki, the Commissioner for Welfare and Community Development as members.
Also named as members of the delegation are: Alhaji Muhammadu Jabbi Kilgori (Sa’in Kilgori), Amb. Chika Sarkin Yaki, Hon. Ubaida Bello, Special Adviser to the state Governor on NGOs and Human Rights, Prof. Mansur Ibrahim Sa’id, former Deputy Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto and Prof. Nasiru Mukhtar Gatawa, Deputy Vice Chancellor, State University, Sokoto,
Others are: Mallam Yahaya Na Mallam Boyi, Sarki Mallaman Sokoto, Alhaji Murtala Dan Iya, state PDP Treasurer, Alhaji Isah Modarawa, general contractor/businessman, Alhaji Yawale Dan Jabalu, businessman and Alhaji Faruku Shehu, a Permanent Secretary, who will serve as the secretary of the delegation.
Meanwhile, Gov. Tambuwal will inaugurate the delegation on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Council Chamber of Government House, Sokoto by 11:00 am.
