2023 Hajj: NAHCON fixes May 25 for inaugural flight with Nassarawa pilgrims

 

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON has fixed May 25th for inaugural flight of the 2023 Hajj from Nigeria to Saudi Arabia.

The inaugural flight would take place with the pilgrims of Nassarawa state.

The chairman of the NAHCON, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan stated this during the inauguration of this year’s Hajj Media Team at the Hajj House in Abuja on Thursday.

The chairman, who stated that an advanced team of Hajj officials would depart to the Holy land on Sunday to prepare for the reception of Nigeria’s pilgrims, emphasised the importance of the media in nation building and unity.

He said the media have the ability to make, or mar, depending on what their consciences guide them to.

Alhaji Zikrullah enjoined the Media Team members to be fair and just in their reportage through responsible information dissemination before, during and even after the Hajj exercise.

In their separate remarks, the Commissioners of planning, research and policy management, Shaykh Sulayman Momoh and Alhaji Nura Hassan Yakasai all advised members of the team to be true ambassadors of the journalism profession by being fair, objective and balanced in the herculean task of news reporting in Nigeria and in Saudi Arabia during the entire period of the Hajj exercise.
