NAHCON, Nasarawa Pilgrims Board, refund N500,000, return ticket fare to late Pilgrim’s family

The Executive Secretary Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Idris Ahmad Almakura along with the representative of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, and other management staff of the board had on Wednesday 30th of October, 2019 paid a condolence visit to the family of Late Adamu Suleiman Amfana, a pilgrim that passed away in Makkah, during 2019 hajj.

Suleiman Amfana who hails from Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State died in Makkah Hospital after a brief illness.

The Executive Secretary Secretary of Board Mallam Idris Ahmad Almakura who led a powerful delegation to the palace of Emir of Awe Alhaji Isa Abubakar Umar told the traditional ruler that they where in his palace to condoled him over the demised of one of his subject who died during the just concluded hajj.

According to Almakura the board in collaboration with the National Hajj Commission had deemed of fit to refund to the family of the deceased all his belongings including money for the returning ticket and other hajj components that he has paid for but didn’t benefits.

Responding, the Emir of Awe, Alhaji Isa Abubakar described the gesture as the first of it kind, and thanked the National Hajj Commission and the management of the state pilgrim board for identifying with them.

The traditional ruler expressed happiness with the leadership of the state Pilgrims board for exhibiting high level of transparency and accountability and urged other religious body to emulate.

Presenting the dead certificate, money and food items to families of the late Pilgrim, The Director, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Abuja, who represemeted the Ag Chairman of NAHCON, Barrister Abdullahi Mukktar said the dead of one of their family member in Saudi ARABIA is a great loss not only to the state but the country at large.

Responding on behalf of the the family members, a brother to the deceased, Malam Abubakar Amfana thanked the delegation for identifying with them and commended them for the fair of Allah in returning the belongings of their brother which they were not even aware of them.

According to the brother this action of NAHCON and the NSMBWB is a clear indication that the board is for those who have the fair of Allah in their heart.
