The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has urged intending pilgrims to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations of the Saudi Arabian Government during this year’s hajj activities.

This followed an announcement by the Commission that the inaugural flight for the hajj would commence on July 10 with pilgrims from Katsina State.

Chairman of NAHCON, Abdullahi Muhammed, at stakeholders review meeting on hajj activities, said preparations were in top gear to ensure that pilgrims who genuinely paid their money are not denied the opportunity to perform their hajj rites.

He warned leaders of states’ delegation for the holy pilgrimage against interfering in operational activities they have no knowledge about, urging them to focus strictly on their mandates.

On the security and welfare of pilgrims, the Muhammed said the Commission had inaugurated a task force team, with membership drawn from security agencies and the Commission to ensure adequate security at airports and safety of the pilgrims

He encouraged states’ Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards to enlighten participants on the weather condition in Saudi Arabia to enable them access their medical fitness before going to the holy land.
