Hajj 2019: Analysis: NAHCON Airlifts 10, 839 Pilgrims from 10 states in 22 Flights Operation within 7 days

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has airlifted 10, 839 Pilgrims since the commencement of airlift of Nigerian pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 2019 hajj.

 

As at the time of writing this report, Analysis of the airlift as obtained from the commission’s command and control website shows that 10, 839 pilgrims have been airlifted in 22 flights operations within 7 days. The inaugural flight took off on July 10 in Katsina state.

Records released by NAHCON shows that state whose pilgrims have been airlifted so far are Katsina, Kano, Kogi, Kebbi, Kwara, Lagos, Osun,  Zamfara and Kaduna.

 

Analysis of State Pilgrims

The details show that so far Lagos state tops the list of successful airlift with 2, 244 pilgrims while Katsina has done 1, 515 and Kano 1, 627.

Kaduna state has 1, 636 and Kwara 1, 675 as 10:30am on Thursday.

Other states are Kogi 460, Kebbi 424, Osun 294, Nasarawa 544 and Zamfara with 419 Pilgrims.

 

Analysis of Air Carriers

Further analysis by IHR shows that Max air ferried 5, 910 pilgrims and officials while Flynas airlifted 3, 392 pilgrims while Medview airline (rescued by Max) has so far carried 1, 636
