Application for Hajj 2020 to start on October 15

Last year, the Haj Committee of India had started receiving Haj Application Form from October 18, 2018

 

Hajj 2020: The Haj Committee of India is set to start receiving “Haj Application Form” (HAF) for Haj 2020, i.e. Hajj 1441 AH, from October 15, 2019. The last date of receiving application form for Hajj 2020 will be December 05, 2019, sources said.

Sources said the Haj Committee of India has finalised the Hajj 2020 Action Plan. It will be published on Haj Committee of India website on October 10, 2019. However a draft copy of the Haj 2020 Action Plan has been shared with all State Haj Committee in India.

It is also learnt that Ministry of Minority Affairs and Consulate General Jeddah have jointly called a meeting on October 04 to review the Hajj 2020 Action Plan before its publication of Haj Committee of India website.

Last year, the Haj Committee of India had started receiving Haj Application Form from October 18, 2018.

Haj Committee of India sources also that a joint delegation will visit Makkah, Madinah – the two holy places in Saudi Arabia, for selection of buildings and hotels for the accomadation of Haj pilgrims. The Haj pilgrims had complained poor quality of accomodation during Haj 2019.

Haj Committee of India sources said Hajj Qurrah 2020, Draw of lots to select Haj Pilgrims, will be held in the second week of December 2019.

Once released, Hajj Action Plan 2020 will also provide Haj 2020 flight schedule and time table from different Haj embarkation points of India.

Coinciding with Eid al Adha, Haj is the annual ritual performed in the month of Dhul Hijjah to commemorate the sacrifices made by Prophet Ibrahim, his wife Hager and their son

Prophet Ismael. The likely date of Hajj 2020 is either on July 27 or 28, 2020, corresponding to 10th of Dhul Hijjah 1441 AH.

As the Islamic calendar is based on sighting of moon, the final date will be decided once the new moon of the month of Dhul Hijjah is sighted.
