Civil society organisation set to hold 2019 Hajj excellence awards

Arrangement has been concluded for the 2019 Hajj Excellence Awards by the Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR), a civil society organisation that monitors and reports hajj activities.

 

The awards, according to a statement Sunday, jointly signed by IHR’s National Coordinator, Ibrahim Muhammed and Organizing Secretary, Mallam Muhammed Garba involved honouring hajj service providers that serve Nigerian pilgrims during 2019 hajj.

 

“In continuation of our policy of appreciating and motivating hajj service providers that rendered excellence services to Nigerian pilgrims, Independent Hajj Reporters will honour individuals diplomats, hajj administrators, hajj officials, and hajj service providers,” the statement reads in part.

 

The statement added that the award ceremony will take place on January 23 in Abuja. Foreign dignitaries are expected to attend the event.

 

“Hajj Excellence awards aim at boosting the morale and encourage hajj administrators, service providers and regulatory agencies to offer their best by giving our dear pilgrims an excellence service,” the statement explained.

 

Some of the categories of the award include best state Muslims pilgrim’s welfare board in terms of organisation, best State Pilgrim’s Boards Head of Operations, Best Leader of State Delegation and Hajj Personality of the Year.

 

Others include best state in Pilgrim’s Enlightenment and Education and feeding, Most Organised State Pilgrims, best service oriented tour operators, best hajj air carriers and others.

 

Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR), is a registered nom-profit comprising of Muslim journalists who seek to enlighten Nigerian pilgrims on how to perform this most important pillar of Islam.
