Dr. Abdul Hakeem Abdullateef, former Amirul Hajj of Lagos State, has extolled the virtues of the new Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Barr. Zikrullah Hassan Olakunle after he assumed duty today.
Dr. Abdullateef’s goodwill message is among the many being showered on Barr. Zikrullah and his board as he had been inaugurated today.
In a statement sent to INDEPENDENT HAJJ REPORTERS on Thursday, the former Amirul Hajj said, Barr. Zikrullah is a man of impeccable character with keen taste for decency, honesty and hard work in his various previous assignments.
He added Barr. Zikrullah’s past experiences were responsible for the cutting-edge approach to his service delivery.
He expressed optimism that the new NAHCON Boss would deliver on his mandate, despite the fact it is “surely a daunting task, recalling that Zikrullah’s pedigree as the former Amirul Hajj of Lagos and Osun states for several years was the reason why he would not fail God on his new assignment.
“I know it is surely a daunting task. As the former Amirul Hajj of Lagos state who for several years led Lagos state Pilgrims while you led Osun state Pilgrims, I can testify to your resilience in the face of the meagre resources at your disposal.
“You were chairman of Chairmen and ultimately Allah has placed you in the topmost position. You will not fail your Lord in this AMANAH.
I congratulate the management and staff of NAHCON and the very forthright and dynamic handlers of Hajj reporters who have consistently contributed to the success of Hajj operations in Nigeria,” Dr Abdullateef said
Dr. Abdullateef, however, commended the immediate past NAHCON chairman, Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar for bringing about landmark changes in the administration of Hajj in Nigeria.
He prayed to Allah to continue to be with Barr. Mukhtar in all his future endeavours.
