First batch of Bauchi pilgrims depart Sunday for 2023 Hajj — Official

The first batch of Bauchi State contingent will be airlifted to Saudi Arabia on Sunday, 28th May, 2023, according to a statement by Muhammad Sani Yunusa,  Information officer, Bauchi State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board on Saturday.

He said the Executive Secretary of the board,  Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris who was represented  by the Director Operation, Alh Sabiu Barau Ningi made the disclosure at the flagging off of distribution of 8kg bags and uniforms to intending pilgrims, held at the headquarters of the board.

According to him, Ningi applauded the state governor, Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for subsidising the cost of the uniforms for the pilgrims.

According to him, what pilgrims paid is really inadequate to produce two sets of wrappers and Himar material for Pilgrims.

He therefore advised the pilgrims to sew their uniforms in good time, stressing that the airlift of Bauchi pilgrims will commence on 28th of May.

Sabiu Barau used the forum to inform the pilgrims that vaccination against contagious diseases is on-going across the state, urging those that are yet to be vaccinated to do so.

“In a similar development, Bauchi indicated  commitment to ensure a hitch free hajj excercise.

“A high powered team led by Secretary to the State Government  SSG visited Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi to make on- the- sport assessment of the facilities.

*The delegation was accompanied by the Executive Secretary of the Board Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris and others,” the statement concluded.
