HAJJ 2022: The Executive Secretary, Gombe Dtate Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan Adamu (Sardaunan Yamaltu), has confirmed that pilgrims from the state will partake in this year’s Hajj after more than two years due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. Hassan dropped this hint during a maiden meeting with the management of the board and that of Jaiz Bank, which is the partner for Hajj Saving Scheme (HSS), for intending pilgrims as well as the Hajj officers from the eleven local government areas of the state.
Hassan further explained that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has directed states to go ahead with preparation for 2022 Hajj, following directives by Saudi Arabia authorities.

NAHCON has also approved HSS as the unified registration option due to its profitability and transparent design in line with the HSS of Jaiz Bank as to harmonise and streamline the process.

The migration of the account goes with the National Identity Number (NIM) and Bank Verification Number (BVN), while serving on first come first served eligibility criterion.

This option was well thought out as a parameter for justice to those who have made deposits earlier. He noted that the status quo with regards to pilgrims’ welfare arrangement remains the same under the states. He advised intending pilgrims to be patient and to keep on praying for actualisation of the 2022 Hajj.
