Hajj 2019: Airlift of intending pilgrims from Bauchi to be completed 3rd  August

The Chairman Bauchi state Hajj 2019 steering committee,

Senator Baba Tela has declared that airlift of intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will be completed August 3rd 2019 from the State.

 

Tela disclosed while addressing the Intending pilgrims in the second flight which comprises pilgrims from the 7 local government areas of Bauchi North senatorial zone.

 

Baba Tela who is also the state Deputy Governor said the airlift of the state pilgrims is expected to be completed on the 3rd of August,

 

He said pilgrims on the third and fourth flights would soon be invited to the hajj camp for screening and their subsequent movement to the Bauchi Airport.

He implored the intending pilgrims to be loyal to both the Nigerian and Saudi authorities and refrain from acts capable of tarnishing their image and that of their state and country.

Tela said the state government has been in consultation with the state carrier on the exercise, stressing that the wisdom behind the meeting was to avoid any hitches on the airlift.

 

He said the state governments have a commitment towards giving the desired priority on the welfare of the state pilgrims performing this year’s hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.

 

Our correspondent monitored that the second flight had  550 intending pilgrims on board in Max Air, left Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi at about 3 am of Tuesday after a long-delayed.

 

Some of the intending pilgrims expressed dismay with the attitude of the airline and called on the state government to take the necessary measures to avert the recurrence of the incidence.

Ado Danladi from Gamawa local government area said ” we did not eat since the lunch we were served and there is nothing to buy at the airport.

 

He suggested that Intending pilgrims should not leave Hajj camp until the aircraft has arrived airport because the pilgrims are suffering at the airport.

 

The acting Executive Secretary of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Alhaji Kasim Danlami Shall commended the pilgrims for their patience,

 

He however assured that the third and fourth flights would take off consecutively.
