Airlift of intending pilgrims for the 2019 hajj exercise from Gombe state begins today Saturday, July 20.

The 1,460 pilgrims will be air lifted to the Holy Land by Max Airline.

This was revealed Friday by the Executive Secretary of Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan during a farewell ceremony graced by the state governor, Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya and the Amirul Hajj, the emir of Gombe, Abubakar Shehu Abubakar.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Yahaya urged the pilgrims to be extra vigilant for their safety.
He also admonished them to abide by all the rules governing Hajj exercise.

“ You should know that Saudi Arabia is not Gombe, you are going to a country different from our own, you are therefore, required to cooperate with officials, rules and regulations for a successful hajj exercise,” he said.

Also speaking the Emir of Gombe leader of the state Amirul Hajj team said hajj is a life-changing spiritual exercise.
“ It is important that you make the best use of the opportunity and return home more committed to God.

“As the state Amirul Hajj my door is always open to provide the necessary support and intervention to ensure that our pilgrims have a great hajj experience,” the Amirul Hajj said.

While calling on the pilgrims to also seize the opportunity to pray for Nigeria’s peace, security and stability, the Emir appreciated the state governor for the moral and material support given to the Amirul Hajj Team to function effectively.

He called on the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state and country at large.
