Lagos State pilgrims welfare board has announced 2019 hajj fare of N1,554,758.10 inclusive of $800 BTA.
Mr Rahman Ishola, Board Secretary, Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board who the announcement also said that announce commencement of the inoculation exercise organised for intending pilgrims of 2019 Hajj for Tuesday, 18th June, 2019.
He made this declaration yesterday during a meeting with the staff in the Conference Room of the agency.
Mr. Ishola explained that the exercise will provide opportunity to vaccinate all intending pilgrims against Polio, Yellow fever and Meningitis as well as providing opportunity for the doctors to give pilgrims accurate prescription after having undergone medical screening at a designated General hospital in the state.
He further stated that pilgrims from Agege and Ajeromi Ifelodun are billed for Tuesday, 18th June, 2019 while Alimosho, Amuwo Odofin and Apapa will be attended to on Wednesday, 19th June.
The Board Secretary continued his analysis that pilgrims from Badagry/ Ojo, Epe / Ibeju, Eti-Osa and Ifako-Ijaiye are slated for Thursday, 20th June while Ikeja and Ikorodu are scheduled for Friday, 21st June.
Kosofe and Lagos Island are scheduled for Monday, 23rd June while Lagos Mainland, Mushin, Oshodi- Isolo, Somolu and Surulere are for Tuesday, 24th June.
To conclude the exercise, Mr, Ishola further hinted that pilgrims from Board will be attended to on the final day which is Wednesday, 25th June.
The screening exercise according to him is to certify that intending pilgrims are physically and mentally fit for the hajj exercise and to be able to prevent any unusual illnesses that may stop the pilgrims from carrying out the fundamental Hajj rites. The Screening Exercise will run from 10 am to 4 pm every day.
Pilgrims are advised to dress in a simple manner to the screening exercise in a way that allow easy administration of the vaccines.
Mr. Ishola stated that the Lagos State government is making frantic efforts to ensure a hitch free Hajj exercise while advising the staff to represent the state well at home and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and treat the pilgrims with respect and fear of God.
He urged local government coordinators to work tirelessly to inculcate the right attitude in the pilgrims during and after hajj.
Mr Ishola disclosed that Wednesday, 3rd July has been fixed for the One-day Seminar which is designed to allow His Excellency Mr. B.O. Sanwo-olu bid the intending pilgrims farewell and to prepare them finally for the holy pilgrimage.
Thursday, 27th June, 2019 has been set aside for intending pilgrims who missed the first Basic Travelling Allowance (BTA) collection to pick tellers from the Account department of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board from 10a.m to 4p.m for payment of the sum of N244, 800.00 to the Union Bank Oregun Branch in exchange for $800 dollars.
Meanwhile, Lagos has officially announced N1, 554,758.10 as 2019 Hajj fare.
