Hajj 2019: Plateau begins Airlift of Pilgrims Wednesday

Airlift of pilgrims from Plateau state for this year’s Hajj exercise is expected to begin Wednesday, July 31.

The airlift exercise is expected to take place at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Airport, Bauchi state.

To this end, Governor Simon Lalong, is set to bid them farewell shortly before commencement of the airlift exercise.

The Executive Secretary of the board, Ustaz Auwal Abdullahi, stated this on Saturday in a press release signed by the board’s Information officer, Namu Sanusi Suleiman.

“The executive Governor, Simon Lalong, will bid farewell to all the 2019 intending pilgrims to the holy land of Saudi Arabia,” Ustaz Abdullahi said.

He said that all intending pilgrims are expected to appear in their uniform, at the Rwang Pam township stadium Jos by 9:00 am on Monday July 29.

About 1,190 intending pilgrims are expected to perform Hajj from Plateau state this year.

Already, a five-day medical screening for all the intending pilgrims ended on Saturday. The screening was carried out at the premises of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare  Board, in Jos, the state capital.
