Hajj 2020:  Bauchi Set Pilgrims’ Registration Deadline for 7th March, Begins State Sensitisation Tour

Officials of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board have on Monday commenced state wide tour to further enlightened intending pilgrims on preparation for this year’s hajj exercise.

 

The delegation led by the special adviser on pilgrims affairs Hon. Isa Babayo Tilde visited Danbam, Misau and Darazo Local Government Areas and prepared to visit Gamawa, Zaki, Jama’are and Itas Gadau the following day Tuesday.

 

Speaking in Danbam, the special Adviser to the Governor on pilgrims affairs, Hon. Isa Babayo Tilde explained that the visit was to seek for the support of stakeholders at the Local Government level on the need to enlighten intending pilgrims to pay their deposits in good time.

 

Isa Babayo reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Bala Abdulkadir administration to improve the quality of services rendered to pilgrims, saying Bauchi state recorded successes during the last hajj exercise.

 

He said in order to consolidate on the successes all hands must be on desk to ensure timely deposit of hajj fares by intending pilgrims and charged those willing to go for this year hajj, to be good ambassadors during hajj exercise.

Also speaking in Danbam, the Ag. Executive secretary of the Board Mal. Alkasim Danlami Shall, emphasized that  Bauchi State has limited hajj slots this year, 2,010 slots as against 3,090 allocated last year, adding that presently the sale of the seats is on first come first serve basis.

 

Mal. Alkasim who said the collection of deposits will cease from 7th March 2020, and therefore called on the all depositors to ensure that they deposited N1.5M in block or in three instalments payment on or before the deadlines while waiting for the actual fare from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

 

While at the palace of the emir of Misau, the delegation was assured by His Royal Highness the Emir of Misau Alh. Ahmed Sulaiman of his support towards enlightening his subjects on the on-going hajj deposits and registration of intending pilgrims.

 

The Emir promised to direct imams, District and ward heads to embark on intensive awareness in their respective areas in order to meet the dateline of 7th March 2020.

 

Alh. Ahmed Sulaiman commended the foresight of the Board for embarking on the visit and reiterated his cooperation whenever the need arises.

 

Responding the Caretaker Chairman of Misau LG, Alh. Yaro Muhammad Gwaram , thanked the Board for the visit and pledges the councils support for the success of this year’s hajj.

 

Also receiving the delegation in his office,  the Caretaker Chairman of Danbam LG, Hon. Alh. Ahmed Garba Muhammad, promised on mobilized the traditional, religious and community leaders to embark on intensive enlightenment campaign on the need for intending pilgrims from the area to meet the dateline given by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
