Hajj 2020: Niger Pilgrims Board to Commence Refund, Urge pilgrims to apply before 31st July

Following the cancellation of is year’s international pilgrimage by the authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board has directed this year’s intending pilgrims that wishes to collect their deposits to apply through their Area Pilgrimage Welfare Officers, APWOs.

 

In a statement signed by the Executive Secretary, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board Alhaji Umar  Makun Lapai, and made available to newsmen, the board disclosed that Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has approved the refund of Hajj fares deposit made by intending pilgrims that were willing to collect back their deposits, adding that the board will equally roll over the deposits of those that were willing to perform 2021 hajj.

Alh.Makun advised those interested in collecting back their money to apply between 15th and 31st of July, 2020 after which the list of rollover pilgrims shall be adopted for 2021 on first come first serve basis.

 

The statement further explained that every intending pilgrim must apply with a hand writing application to be counter signed by the APWO and the board member from the area.

 

It will be recalled that authorities of Saudi Arabia has cancelled this year’s international pilgrimage, allowing only residents of the Kingdom as a result of coronavirus pandemic ravaging the globe.
