Hajj 2021: Saudi Arabia to introduce Pilgrims movement and accommodation Smart Card

The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Abdel Fattah Mashat revealed that the ministry will activate the smart card in the Hajj season in 1442 AH after using it in the Hajj in 1440 AH by trying 50 thousand cards.

He explained, during his participation in the digital initiatives industry discussions within the Makkah Cultural Forum, that the smart card initiative is a collection of technical efforts in the sectors that serve the pilgrims during the Hajj season and the pilgrims benefit from them in entering the Kingdom and housing sites.

He added that the card contains a large set of data and information on the Hajj, which helps the system of managing services for pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom.

He indicated that the card makes it easier for the Ministry and all sectors to identify the pilgrim and provide him with services in a manner befitting the Kingdom.
