On Monday, Pir Noor Ul Haq Qadri the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony declared that in 2021 Hajj will be more expensive due to the observance of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

While speaking to the media, after attending a Hajj conference with the legislatures of Hajj organizers association Pakistan and Hajj organizers association Sindh, at Haji Camp, he stated that Hajj could be expensive this year due to the coronavirus SOPs.

As per the REPORT, he revealed that the government is in discussion with the stakeholders for conscripting the Hajj Policy 2021, and they are considering offering more facilities to the pilgrims next year, as well as the arrangement of a vaccine for them. Though, he added that Saudi Arabia had not yet publicized a clear policy for Hajj 2021.

Prior to June, Saudi Arabia permitted a limited number of pilgrims for Hajj in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak. Therefore, only 10,000 people already living in Saudi Arabia were permitted to perform Hajj under severe coronavirus SOPs.
