Hajj 2022: First batch of Lagos State pilgrims return home

No fewer than 430 males and females Lagos State pilgrims that took part in the Year 2022 holy pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have returned home safely.

 

The pilgrims arrived aboard a Flynas Airline with Flight number XY7008 which touched down at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja at exactly 9.04pm on Sunday July 17, 2022.

 

It would be recall that Lagos State airlifted a total number of 1,665 pilgrims for the spiritual exercise in six batches.

 

Some of the fresh Alhajis and Alhajas expressed their gratitude to Almighty Allah for His mercy through out the spiritual exercise.

 

They also appreciated the State Government and its officials for their selfless efforts at ensuring that they left Nigeria to perform all the Hajj rites without stress and return them back home safely without recording any serious health challenges or  death.

 

Officials of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board led by Mrs. Ganiyat Ojomu, Head of Administration and Human Resource were on ground to receive the pilgrims at the airport. They also ensured that a five litre of Zamzam water was distributed to each of the pilgrims before leaving the Hajj camp.

 

According to the flight schedule released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), the return journey which commenced with the first batch on Sunday, July 17 will run through to July 31 when the entire 1,655 pilgrims are expected to be in Lagos fully.

 

Meanwhile the second batch is expected to return on Tuesday July 19, 2022.
