Hajj 2022: Gombe Begins Pilgrims Enlightment.

The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced induction courses for this year’s intending Pilgrims.
Opening the prpgramme at the Arabic Teacher’s College (ATC), Gombe, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Abubakar Ibrahim Njodi, stressed the need for intending pilgrims to purify themselves ahead of the holy pilgrimage.

 

Represented by the Secretary, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan Adamu (Sardaunan Yamaltu), the SSG said the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) had advised for the collection of N2.5 million deposit from each intending pilgrim. According to him, about 1005 seats have been allocated to the state for the year 2022.

 

Alhaji Abubakar Njodi however explained that the increase of the Hajj fare followed the hike in air fare and exchange rate of the U.S dollar.

 

Alhaji Abubakar Njodi further informed the intending pilgrims that those above the age of 65 years would not be able to perform Hajj, while those below 65 years have to show evidence of complete vaccination in addition to the PCR COVID-19 test within 74 hours before taking off to the holy land.

 

Speaking earlier, the Deputy Secretary, Alhaji Adamu Niger, said the induction course would last for five weeks and urged the intending pilgrims to give maximum support and cooperation to the resource persons and the First Aid group members for its success.

 

On her part, Hajiya Ladi Babawuro Ardo expressed gratitude for witnessing the commencement of this year’s Hajj preparations and prayed God for its success.
