Hajj 2022: Nigerian pilgrims protest poor feeding services

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, (NAHCON) has expressed displeasure over “poor feeding services” to Nigerian pilgrims at Mashai’r

 

 

Hajj Reporters reports that Masha’ir is the place where all the pilgrims that are performing Hajj would stay for three days to observe their Hajj rites .

 

 

In a letter to the Chairman, Company of Mutawifs for Pilgrims of African Non-Arab Countries in Makkah, dated July 10, NAHCON drew the attention of the company of complaints on inadequate and poor standard of meals to Nigerian pilgrims.

 

 

According to the letter, it required the intervention of NAHCON to avert breach if security by the angry pilgrims.

 

 

The affected pilgrims who lodged complaints include those in Lagos, Borno, Adamawa, Edo, Katsina, Ebonyi, Delta, Ekiti, Kwara, Oyo and Kogi states.

 

 

Others include pilgrims of tour operators and NAHCON officials.

 

 

NAHCON therefore, demanded the company to refund for the unsupplied and rejected meals to the aggrieved pilgrims.
