HAJJ 2023: Bauchi pilgrims board advises intending pilgrims to wait for invitation before reporting to transit camp

As the airlift of intending pilgrims from Bauchi State to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues, the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board says only pilgrims who are invited by the board are allowed to go to the premises of the board.

Addressing a press conference at Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar Hajj Transit Camp Bauchi on Sunday, the Executive Secretary of the board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris expressed concern with the way some intending pilgrims along with their family members troop to the board Secretariat on daily basis to check for their names in the list of pilgrims to be airlifted.

The Executive Secretary explained that apart from interfering with the services being rendered to the pilgrims by staff of the board, the presence of uninvited people in the board’s offices makes it difficult for the board’s staff to operate.

Imam Idris said any pilgrim that is not satisfied with the services of the board, should write a letter of request for the refund of his deposit from the board.

He pleaded with intending pilgrims that are yet to be invited to exercise more patience, assuring that the board is doing its utmost best to secure visas to all those who deposited their full Hajj fare with the board in order to perform the pilgrimage from the state.
