Hajj 2023: NAHCON lauds Niger Pilgrims Board

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has commended the preparedness of the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board for the 2023 Hajj.

 

The Head of the NAHCON delegation to the state, Alhaji Ali Mohammed Ali, stated this in after supervising the level of preparation of the Board in Minna the State Capital.

 

“We are in Niger State to see for ourselves right from the level of payment, mobilization up to the level of airlift of the intending Pilgrims to the Holy land, ” a statement by Hassan D Idris C I O, of the board quoted Ali as saying.

 

He said the NAHCON has equally sent officials to other parts of the country as part of its commitments in ensuring a hitch free 2023 Hajj operations.

 

Alhaji Ali further commended the Minna International airport for upgrading its facilities to accommodate Hajj operations in the State.

 

The Executive Secretary of the Niger SPWB, Alhaji  Umar Makun  Lapai, who appreciated the visit by NAHCON officials, mentioned that Niger State has almost completed all arrangement towards achieving a hitch free 2023 Hajj operations.

 

Lapai reiterated the commitment of the Board for ensuring Intending Pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the state use the Minna International airport, adding that “It’s very unfortunate we couldn’t use the airport in our state for the airlift of intending Pilgrims due to reasons beyond our control in 2022.”

 

He, however, warned Intending Pilgrims on ensuring payment of the Hajj fare at the designated centers approved by the Board in the state Capital and Local government offices across the State.

 

Lapai, The Executive Secretary, who further emphasized that the state will be among the first best three for hajj efficiency, advised intending Pilgrims to key in the NAHCON Hajj policy, by payment of their Hajj fare through certified bank draft, appointed APWO’s , or  Hajj saving scheme.

 

While warning intending Pilgrims to adhere strictly to NAHCON directives on payment of Hajj fares, he stated that there’s no room for cash transactions and verbal transaction for payment of Hajj fare in the state.
