Hajj 2023: Niger Pilgrims’ Board announce N2.5 million as Hajj fare deposit

Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the sum of N2.5 million naira as deposit for 2023 hajj pending the official directive on 2023 hajj fare from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, (NAHCON) directives.

 

Executive Secretary, Alhaji Umar Makun Lapai disclosed this while speaking with newsmen after meeting with critical stakeholders to understudy the activities of 2022 hajj exercise.

 

The Executive Secretary stated that the meeting was conveyed to access and review 2022 hajj exercise, and how to ensure that the achievements of this year’s exercise be improved upon and to unveil the commencement of 2023 hajj activities.

Alhaji Makun Lapai further explained that payment for the exercise could be either through Hajj Savings Scheme or Pay-as-you-go, and appealed to members of the board to help sensitize the general public on the existence of the Hajj saving scheme.

 

He said “we have proposed seat allocation based on this year’s slot given to some local government areas.

 

“Whatever be the final allocations from #NAHCON, will determine what each local government will get”, he added.

 

He said the board has the capacity to accommodate up to 5,000 seat allocation, while other proposals are subject to the approval of the state government.
