Hajj 219: Saudi mounts 5,909 Cameras in Mina to monitor pilgrims movement

Saudi Arabia has mounted 5,909 cameras in Mina and other strategic locations to monitor pilgrims movement during this year’s hajj exercise.

Brig. Samiyya Shuwera, spokesperson of Saudi public security disclosed this at a joint press conference addressed with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Heath, Security and Saudi Civil Defence.

He said the whole security arrangement, monitored by command and control has 5,909 cameras which shows the movement of all pilgrims.

He said one of the six major security measures taken is to make sure that all pilgrims have license for hajj to pass through routes.

” We have turned back more than 15,000 from our various points for lack of security license.

“We have also arrested 200,000 vehicles who have no license.

“Human factor is prominently figured in our plan. There is no Hajjih without license and we shall abide strictly by this,”he cautioned.

He said public security has seven major plans and sub plans and it will be followed strictly for the interest of the Pilgrims.
