Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier Flynas reported a 91 per cent increase in passengers to 8.7 million in 2022 compared to 2021, marking a double annual growth.

The Saudi airline has introduced 16 new destinations to its route map, with 30 new routes. New aircraft have also arrived, increasing its fleet to 43 in total.

SKYTRAX also awarded the airline the ‘Best Low-Cost in the Middle East’ for the fifth consecutive year in 2022.

As per reports published in December, 2022, the airline welcomed two used Airbus A330-300s in 2022. Both aircraft are poised to enter service in March, 2023, configured in a high-density layout to optimise revenue. These will likely boost capacity on high-demand routes, especially during the Hajj pilgrimage.

Flynas recorded a whopping 66,000 flight operations in 2022, an improvement of 45 per cent. Seat capacity also increased by 46 per cent.

On the occasion, Bander Almohanna, CEO and Managing Director, flynas, said, “The annual results confirm the progress in the company’s strategic plan with the receiving of eight new Airbus A320neo and two Airbus A330 aircraft, which will contribute to serve pilgrims and Umrah performers as well as expanding to new markets.”

”Moreover, the company’s Board of Directors approved raising the booking orders of 250 aircraft, in line with the goals of the Saudi vision 2030, and the civil aviation strategy to reach 330 million passengers, 250 international destinations, and 100 million tourists annually.”

The airline operates over 1,500 weekly flights to more than 70 domestic and international destinations.
