Hajj Cancellation: Niger to Refund Intending Pilgrims

Niger State pilgrims welfare board and intending pilgrims have accepted the cancellation of this years Hajj by Saudi authorities as an act of God.

 

Disclosing this while addressing the staff of the board, the Executive Secretary, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Umar Makun Lapai, explained that the board has been formally informed of the cancellation of this year’s Hajj.

 

He said the obvious reasons for the cancellation were as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic that is still ravaging some parts of the world.

 

The Executive Secretary commended the entire staff of the board, Area Pilgrims Officers (APWOS) and Board members for their commitment, honesty, perseverance and transparency in the discharge of official duties. He further appreciates the intending pilgrims for their patience and understanding.

 

Alh.Makun also assured the pilgrims of the board’s readiness to make a 100%refund to those of them who want their money as it was done in 2020.

 

He therefore, appealed to the pilgrims to exercise patience as the board awaits further instructions from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria on modalities to be adopted.

 

Finally, he assured the Government and the public of the boards readiness to improve on the quality of their services to the pilgrims in order to enable them have value for their money, and urged the staff to put everything into prayers.
