Chief Executives for State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, Commissions and Agencies under the umbrella of “Forum of Chief Executives for State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, Commissions and Agencies has pledged to support all policies introduce by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) aimed at transforming Hajj management in line with the global standard”.
The Chairman of the Forum who is also the Director of FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Muhammad Nasiru Danmallam made the pledge when he led a delegation on courtesy call to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
Mallam Danmallam stressed that the entire members of the forum are in support of all policies introduced by the commission over the years which were aimed at improving the hajj operations comparable to the world acceptable practice.
The Chairman of the Forum said the states have been following developments which included the establishment of Hajj Training Institute, Staff Clinic and modification of the Hajj house among others and commended the Chairman, commissioners and the management of NAHCON for attaining that feet.
He emphasized that as stakeholders in hajj exercise, the forum has since engaged in prayers to seek for divine intervention to ensure the participation of Nigerian intending Pilgrims to partake in this year’s hajj operation just as he prayed the Chairman to consider organizing a join retreat for the Commission and the Forum to forge the way forward for the industry.
Receiving the delegation at the Hajj House, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NAHCON, Alhaji Zikirullah Hassan appreciated the clinging support accorded to the Commission by the Forum in all policies especially at the trying periods where hajj couldn’t take place with Nigerians for two consecutive years.
Alhaji Zikirullah Hassan expressed the hope that activities for the 2022 hajj would commence soon as the commission has already mapped out strategies to ensure a successful operation as soon as the Saudi Arabian government give a green light on the religious obligation.
The Chairman disclosed that the staff clinic established by the commission would soon be commissioned, while efforts to meet up requirements for the Hajj Training Institute are in top gear. He also considered the Forum’s Chairman request for a joint retreat with the states and directed the Forum’s Chairman to liaise with the Commissioner of Policy, Planning, Finance and Administration (PPFA) in that regard.
Highlight of the visit was presentation of Plaque by the forum to the newly appointed Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Rabi’u Abdullahi Kontagora, while prayers for his successful tenure were offered.
