HAJJ/UMRAH: Adamawa Inaugurates Committee To Design Training Module For Intending Pilgrims

The Permanent Secretary and Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu has organized a seminar of Islamic scholars and Hajj specialists to design an all encompassing module to be used in the training of intending Pilgrims from the state.

The module, which will be inline with global best practices will dwell on how to perform Hajj and Umrah as well as matters related to the Hajj and Umrah exercises.

In a welcome address, the Chairman of the Commission, Imam Bappari Umar Kem urged the participants to come up with a simple and acceptable module in accordance with Islamic teachings for intending Pilgrims.

In a remark, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu who explained the reasons that informed the Commission to design the module, called on the experts to ensure that it is in line with Islamic tenets and sharia compliant as well as discard innovations.

Membership of the committee cuts across Islamic sects in the state and has two women representatives to cater for the interest of women folk.

The eight days workshop will look into all aspects of acts of Hajj and Umrah performance and design a simple guideline in tandem with Islamic teachings and best global practices.
