History: How Nigeria pilgrims were rescued in Libyan Desert in 1960
The picture above is of Nigerian Muslim pilgrims Nigerian Muslim pilgrims boarding a Royal Air Force’s Hastings aircraft at El Adem, Libya.
They were part of about 100 Nigerian pilgrims who lost their way in the Libyan Desert when they are returning from Hajj on foot in 1960
The Royal Air Force was called in to assist and fly them to Kano.
