The Managing Director of AL IRSHAD Travels, a NAHCON registered Hajj and Umrah Operator, Alh Rasheed Adeleke has narrated how he was able to travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah despite the suspension of direct flight from Nigeria to Saudi Arabia.

Rasheed who spoke to HAJJ REPORTERS in Tuesday said he was able to comply with the new Omicron protocol introduced and arrived Saudi Arabia on 3rd January 2022 and successfully performed Umrah.

Rasheed Adeleke who has since returned to Nigeria said ” I travelled to Ghana via Air peace and spent 14 days there before departing to Saudi Arabia. I transited through Ghana because the new guideline stated that a Nigerian must spend 14 days in another country before flying to the Kingdom. I left Ghana on January 3rd via Qatar Airway with ticket number 157 2393500539, transited through Doha and arrived King Abdul Aziz intentional airport Jeddah same day”.

Asked whether his company can ferry Umrah pilgrims to the Kingdom, Rasheed said the process is very easy and not as delicate as being envisaged. “We can guide pilgrims if they are willing to travel with us. The only issue is to travel through another country but honestly, I found the whole process easy. Arrival screening in KAIA in Jeddah and booking for Umrah is also very easy.

Rasheed said his company is currently processing transport documents of some Umrah pilgrims that are ready to be airlifted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through another country and comply with the travel protocols.
