A Non-Governmental Organisation, monitoring Hajj activities in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR), has honoured the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGMPWB), with an Excellent Coordination and Dedication award.

Speaking during the event at the National Mosque Auditorium, Abuja, the National Coordinator, IHR, Mallam Ibrahim Muhammed said the award was in recognition of the Board’s dedication throughout the 2022 Hajj operation, particularly its conduct in Saudi Arabia.

Mallam Muhammed noted that the honour was to encourage States’ Pilgrims Boards to continue rendering better services for intending pilgrims during hajj exercise.

Responding, the Ad-hoc Committee Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Hussein Lawal, affirmed that the agency was able to achieve a seamless operation due to the unprecedented support of the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration and other relevant agencies in the Hajj industry.

Alhaji Lawal appreciated IHR for the recognition which he noted was a clarion call for higher responsibility towards the provision of better services to the pilgrims in future hajj exercises, saying, “Ogun State is known for setting the pace and we will continue with the good work, we will not drop the ball”.

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Salau Dauda, maintained that the Board was known for quality service delivery and would sustain the tempo, lauding the State Pilgrims for their cooperation and comportment during the pilgrimage.
