Ilorin Emirate to observe Virtual Eid-Adha prayers

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has enjoined Muslim faithful to celebrate the Edi-Adha festival peacefully in line with the dictates of Allah and his Prophets.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari stated this in a statement signed on Thursday by his Media Aide, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona stressing that Eid-Adha festival which enjoins Muslims to always exhibit principles of patient, tolerant and parseverance in all their dealings.

The statement also urged Muslims across the Ilorin Emirate to monitor the virtual Eid-Adha two-rakat nafilah and slaughtering of ram by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Dr. Muhammad Bashir Imam-Soliu on Radio Kwara Am and FM, Sobi 99.1 FM, Harmony FM 103.5 beginning from 9.30am tomorrow (Friday).

The Eid-adha prayers would be transmitted live from the residence of the Chief Imam of Ilorin as a guide for worshippers to follow from home.

This, according to the monarch is in compliance to the safety protocols against the spread of COVID-19 infection in the society urging residents to strictly abide by the order.

The Emir however enjoined worshipers to pray fervently for the nation and extend charity to the less privileged and loved ones during and after the sallah festival.
