The committee established by the Kaduna State Pilgrims Agency for the Review of Pilgrims’ Training Manuals and learning resources has submitted its report. The committee hands over its report to the Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Dr Yusuf Yakubu Arrigasiyyu inside the conference hall of the agency’s headquarters at Katsina road, Kaduna
The reports submitted by the leader of the 12 members committee, Dr Hadiza Ahmad Tukur comprise hajj training manuals in English and Hausa as well as the Pilgrim Hajj Guide and its Hausa version called ‘Jagoran Mahajjata’.
It is noteworthy that the current pilgrims‘ training and enlightenment manuals, as well as the pilgrims’ hajj guide which has been in use for over 2 decades.
Receiving the report, the Executive Secretary Dr Yusuf Yakubu Arrigasiyyu noted that the agency will reproduce copies of the reports for distribution to intending pilgrims and Pilgrim Trainers after it is launched. He added that some State Pilgrim Welfare Boards have approached the Agency for copies of the work to guide them in developing similar resources in their states.
While thanking the Committee for a good job, he noted that the manuals have now been upgraded in line with global best practices and current knowledge.
Arrigasiyyu further stated that the agency will soon place an advert inviting interested people to apply to serve as trainers on an adhoc basis to standardize the pilgrims’ enlightenment education. Those recruited will now be trained by the committee before they can certify to train our intending pilgrims.
He added that the efforts of the agency are in line with Governor Mallam Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai’s administration’s drive for a more efficient Pilgrimage system in the State.
Earlier in her address the Chairperson of the Committee, Dr Hadiza Ahmad Tukur of Ahmadu Bello University, expressed gratitude to Allah to give them the opportunity and courage to complete the work, she said the manuals are in English and Hausa.
