Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Transport Company announced on Tuesday an increase in the route of the express bus transport service connecting King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) and the Balad city center of Jeddah. This will be through linking the airport terminal 1 with the terminal 2 (north terminal).

The Jeddah Transport Company started implementing the express transport bus service in April 2022 and that is in cooperation with Jeddah Airports Company and the Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO).

With an increase in the route, the total length of the round trip from the Corniche station in the Balad city center to the northern terminal will be 104 km, and the circular trip would take 210 minutes.

In addition to the airport and SAPTCO stations in Al-Balad, the route includes 3 stops — the first near Flamingo Mall on Prince Majed Street, the second near Al-Andalus Mall, and the third Baghdadiya 7 district on Madinah Road.

The service aims to develop public transport services in #Jeddah and provide its best to serve all segments of society at an affordable rate of SR20. This is in addition to the various options it will provide for travelers to move from and to the airport.

The express bus service at KAIA will operate around the clock during the week and will be connected with Jeddah’s center, which comes within the joint cooperation to develop bus transport services to and from the airport terminal 1 and terminal 2.

Jeddah Airports Company will allocate a special bus parking in the departure and arrival areas of the airport terminals. The company will also establish a waiting station in front of the bus stops in the arrivals area.

It is noteworthy that the buses were designed to accommodate 33 passengers, in addition to places designated for people with disabilities, and empty places for passengers’ baggage.

Jeddah Transport Company said that those wishing to use the bus service could purchase tickets through several sales points inside the airport or by using the SAPTCO app for payment.
