JUST IN: Niger State Announces 2019 Hajj Fare

Niger State Muslim Pilgrims board has announced 2019 hajj fare of N1, 513,650:00 (Inclusive of $800 BTA for the intending pilgrims from Niger State.

 

 

A statement signed by the information officer of the  board, Hassana Isa said that “the announcement was made today at the Conference Hall of the Board by the Ag Exec Sec of the Board Alh Umar Makun Jarman Birnin Lapai in a joint meeting with the Area Pilgrims Welfare Officers of the twenty five Local Govt Areas of the State”

 

 

 

However The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) had initially approved the sum of One Million, Five Hundred and Thirty Four Thousand, Three Hundred and Five Naira, Ten Kobo (#1,534,305:10) Inclusive of $800 BTA as the 2019 Hajj Fare for the Intending Pilgrims from Niger State. This is to cover for all the Hajj components including Suit cases and uniforms.

 

 

Th statement said that “Alh Umar Makun further explained that, the Government of the State under the able leadership of Alh. (Dr)  Abubakar Sani Bello, has taken off the cost of Suit cases and uniforms as subsidy. This gesture brought down the fare to One Million, Five Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Six Hundred and Fifty (#1,513,650) Naira as the 2019 Hajj Fare.

 

 

“The Ag Exec Sec also reminded those that have travelled to Saudi Arabia in the last Four (4) years that the fine of 2000SR is still in force and therefore advised them to pay before getting their visa to avoid unwanted embarrassment.

 

He further directed all the Intending Pilgrims that have deposited their money with the Board to pay up their balance on or before 30th of May, 2019 for onward remittance to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He warned against fraudsters and advised for purchase of drafts from any Bank of choice for all payments and, warned all Intending Pilgrims not to engage themselves into any cash transaction with any official or individual.

 

Earlier, Alh Umar Makun disclosed that, a total of Three Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fourty Six Thousand (3,946) seats were allocated to the State.
