JEDDAH
— Green color has been chosen for the airport taxis which will serve all airports in the Kingdom, according to Ibrahim Al-Ruassa, spokesman of the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA).

The airport taxi is a joint venture between GACA and the Public Transport Authority (PTA) who will both issue the required licenses, control taxi activities and make the organizational procedures.

The spokesman said the taxi venture will be offered for public tenders after interested companies have been qualified and rehabilitated.

He said the photos of the taxis at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah published on social media were for experimental purposes and said all the details of the project will be revealed after preparations in this regard are completed.

Ruassa said the authority has signed agreements and MoU with Jeddah Metro and the Saudi Arabia Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) to further develop bilateral cooperation in providing transport to passengers.

He said the taxis will have special parking lots at the departure and arrival halls and added that the metro will transport passengers to various areas in Jeddah.
