Kaduna Commences Refund of N51, 000 to 3,200 Registered Pilgrims

The Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board said it has started making a refund of over N148 million Naira to pilgrims who have made complete payment of their hajj fare before the downward review by National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) last week.

 

This was made known in a Press Statement signed by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Yunusa Muhammad Abdullahi.

 

The statement explained that each intending pilgrim who had earlier paid N1, 549,297.09 as hajj fare for this year’s pilgrims from the state, will be refunded N51, 170.50k after the down review of the fare to N1, 498,126.50.

 

According to the statement, NAHCON had last week announced the downward review of hajj fare for all the Nigerian intending pilgrims for this year’s Hajj and ordered states to also review their rates and ensure prompt payment of refunds to the affected pilgrims.

 

He explained that over 3,100 have already been registered by the Board and urged others who have the intention to travel for the Hajj this year’s to approach its officials before the closure of online hajj registrations on July 15, 2019.

 

About 3,200 intending pilgrims have already been registered by the board for this year’s in the state, the statement added.
