The chairperson of the review committee, Hadiza Ahmad, said the previous version of the Hajj guide had grammatical and typological errors.
She also said the old version was ambiguous and had errors in sequencial arrangements of practices during Hajj, which were corrected in the reviewed version.
“We also included current global practices of the Hajj in the reviewed copies and concentrated on the ‘Maliki’ school of thoughts which Nigeria is practising,” she said.
Ahmad, however, observed that there were other school of thoughts which were correct and accepted, but chose that of the ‘Maliki’ as a standard guide for Kaduna pilgrims.
She urged pilgrims to read the guide for proper acts at the holy land, while calling on those teaching Hajj practice to ensure strict adherence to the curriculum.

The chairman of the Kaduna State Interfaith Bureau, Tahir Umar, restated the commitment to continue working in synergy with the pilgrimage agency to ensure smooth exercise.
He urged clerics to avoid inciting sermons and other acts that could trigger unrest.
Meanwhile, the agency has begun the registration of intending pilgrims for Hajj 2023 throughout the 23 local governments in the state. Intending pilgrims are to deposit a minimum of N1.5 Million as initial deposit.
The Executive Secretary of Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency Dr. Yusuf Yakubu Arrigasiyyu stated that intending pilgrims were to pay their fare through the collection of bank tellers from local government pilgrim officers and approach banks for the payment.
A statement by an aide of the Executive Secretary, Ibrahim Shehu Giwa said the least amount to be collected as the deposit is N1,500,000, adding however, that “intending pilgrims can pay up to N2,500,000 before the official announcement of the real amount for the 2023 Hajj”.
