Kano launches COVID-19 vaccination on Hajj 2021 pilgrims, management, board members

Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has commenced COVID-19 vaccination of 2021 intending pilgrims, starting with management, board members and other staffers.

 

A statement by Hadiza Abbas Sunusi, Public Relations Officer of the board on Thursday, the exercise was launched by the Executive Secretary, Muhammad Abba Dambatta.

 

She said the ES said that the exercise was in line with the directives from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) in preparation of this year’s spiritual journey.

 

Muhammad Abba Dambatta revealed that the Board in collaboration with the state Ministry of Health has made all necessary arrangements for the successful conduct of the vaccination exercise with a view to achieving the intending mission.

The Executive Secretary maintained that the board would ensure that all the intending pilgrims would be vaccinated with the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine various enlightenments centres across the state .

Dambatta posited out that during the recent meeting with all Chief Executives of Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, the Chairman of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Barrister Zikirullah Kunle Hassan, lauded the effort of Kano state Governor for providing the Board with Bank Verification Number generating machine, 47 number of Laptops Computers for Center officers, three number of Buses and the achievements so far recorded in the issue of hajj servings scheme.

 

He then used the gathering in calling on all the intending Pilgrims to ensure that they have been vaccinated, as according to him no Hajj for any person without been vaccinated

 

Speaking on behalf of Board members, the chairman of the Board, Professor Abdallah Saleh Pakistan, appealed to all intended pilgrims to extend full compliance with the directives as its not against the religion of Islam.

 

Professor Pakistan, who cited various Quranic verses and Prophetic tradition on important of seeking medical attention during pandemic, advice the general public more especially intending pilgrims to accept the vaccine with good faith, stressing that they are sure that its good for health.
