Katsina urges Intending pilgrims to hasten payment, to introduce Pilgrims’ Call Centre

Ahead of the commencement of the 2022 hajj, Katsina State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has appealed to the state intending pilgrims who are willing to be part of the state-contingent to the Holy Land to be ready to balance up the fare as soon as NAHCON announced the final fare for 2022 Hajj.

 

The Executive Director of the board, Alh Suleiman Nuhu Kuki made the call while speaking with newsmen on Monday after meeting with his management and technical team at the board’s headquarters in Katsina.

 

Alh Kuki stated that the board has put all machinery in action to ensure that Katsina State intending pilgrims get a commensurate value in terms of services throughout the hajj exercise.

 

“We are appealing to our intending pilgrims to pay a minimum of N1 million or above, especially those who had earlier deposited N1.5 million to balance up the fare as soon as NAHCON announced the final figure for hajj 2022.  We are aware of the difficult challenges owing to short time notice but we are left with no option but to work hard to meet the hajj 2022 calendar of action”.

The Executive Director further assured the state intending pilgrims of the board’s readiness to offer value-added services that will make the 2022 hajj a memorable experience for the state pilgrims. “

 

In furtherance of the realisation of the vision of His Excellency, Governor Aminu Bello Masari of a welfare centre policies for the state pilgrims, the board will establish an operational call centre dedicated to answering pilgrims’ inquiries throughout the exercise. This initiative is part of the board’s broad policy to ensure that pilgrims are kept abreast of development as far as the 2022 hajj is concerned. The state pilgrims will enjoy standard accommodation, feeding and other services in the Kingdom.

Alh Kuki said the centre will be equipped with state of the art Information Communication technology types of equipment and will have a database management system with contact numbers of all registered pilgrims from the state while experienced and versatile hajj officials will control the centre.

 

Alh Kuki said the board had also directed its Zonal Coordinators to create a platform where they can relate with the pilgrims directly as part of the education and enlightenment system for the 2022 hajj.

 

It will be recalled that NAHCON allocated 2,146 Hajj seats to Katsina thereby ranking the state as the 5th largest allocation after Kaduna, Kano, Niger and Sokoto State. The seat allocation itself was based on the state performance during 2019 airlifts and we are working hard to surpass the feat God’s willing.
