Kwara Govt Dispel Rumuor of Pilgrims Protest

FROM MUHAMMAD KABIR

The Kawara State Pilgrims Welfare Board has clarify that every intending pilgrim registered with the  State Government has since been airlifted to Saudi Arabia for the 2019 Hajj.

The Spokesman to the Governor MrRafiu Ajakaye said through a statement that there are a total 2,026 pilgrims from the state, the last batch of whom took off on 24 July, 2019, according to figures from the state pilgrims’ board.

He described  the protest this morning at the Ilorin International Airport organized by some intending pilgrims from neighbouring states, not those from Kwara because according to him all those from the State are safely in Mecca.

He said this has no connection whatsoever with the Kwara State Government or officials of Kwara  State Muslim Pilgrims Board as being claimed by some persons.
