In preparation for the 2021 Hajj Pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has concluded arrangements to administer the first dose of COVID-19 Astrazeneca vaccine on the 2021 intending Pilgrims from the State.

 

In a statement, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Barrister AbdulGaniyu Ishola Ahmed said that the vaccination will take place between today Friday second of April and next week Friday, 9th of April 2021 starting from 7am to 4pm daily.

Other schedules are as follows: Ilorin West 2nd April, Ilorin South and Ilorin East 3rd April, Asa and Moro 4th April, Irepodun and Ifelodun 5th April.  Offa, Isin, Oyun, Ekiti and Oke Ero 6th April. Petegi,  Edun, 7th April Baruten 8th April and non Kwara pilgrims 9th April.

 

 

According to Barrister AbdulGaniyu Ishola Ahmed, the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency had provided enough vaccines that would cover all the intending Pilgrims who have already paid Hajj deposits with the Board.

 

He noted that the vaccination exercise, which is the first dose, would be carried out at the Board premises Ilorin in accordance with the stipulated date for the Sixteen Local Government Areas of the State.

 

The statement indicates that intending pilgrims from Ilorin West will take their vaccine today Friday 2 April, Ilorin South and Ilorin East April 3th, Asa and Moro April 4th, Irepodun and Ifelodun April 5th.

 

Others are Offa, Oyun, Esin, Ekiti and Oke-Ero April 6th, Patigi and Edu April 7th as well as Baruten and Kaiama April 8th while other Non Kwaran Pilgrims will take their own on April 9th, 2021.

 

The statement enjoined the intending Pilgrims to note that the inoculation exercise is a prerequisite to be fulfilled to meet up with travelling requirements to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

It however urges the intending pilgrims who were already being vaccinated elsewhere to come along with their vaccination cards for record purpose.

 

The Executive Secretary therefore advised the intending Pilgrims to also come along with all their Hajj deposit receipts and adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols, assuring them of the Board readiness to make all necessary arrangements for hitch free exercise.
