THE Malaysia pilgrims’ fund board Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) urges pilgrims who received their offer letter for the 1441H/2020M Hajj season to register for vaccination as it is likely they are the top priority for the upcoming season despite the absence of confirmation yet.
TH Hajj ED Datuk Seri Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman said the fund is preparing early by considering the practice of the new norm in operations handling in Malaysia as well as departure stations nationwide.

“Although until there is still no certainty about the implementation of the Hajj this year, TH still needs to take steps to prepare.
“The Malaysian government and TH are still waiting for the official announcement of the Saudi Arabian government regarding the Hajj and the number of national pilgrims allowed to perform the fifth pillar of Islam this year,” he said during the media briefing in Kuala Lumpur earlier today.
The fund board will also make preparations in terms of accommodation, transportation, flights, meals, the worshipping terms and law in Makkah and Madinah.
TH expects standard operating procedures (SOPs) and strict hajj health protocols to be issued by the Saudi Arabian government will cover physical distancing in accommodation buildings, transportation and performance of worship to ensure the safety of pilgrims from around the world.
Previously, the Minister of Health of Saudi Arabia has stated that taking the Covid-19 vaccine is one of the mandatory conditions for all prospective pilgrims who wish to perform the hajj for the coming season.
As such, prospective pilgrims should register as vaccine recipients via the MySejahtera application or website www.vaksincovid.gov.myor call 1800-888-828, and be prepared to take the mandatory meningococcal injection when called by the Health Ministry so that the process of taking the vaccine would run smoothly.
