NAHCON is yet to Commence Hajj Saving scheme – Official

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has said that it is yet to commence a Hajj Saving scheme contrary to media units.

Spokesperson of the commission, Fatima Sanda Usara, told HAJJ REPORTERS on Wednesday that she was misquoted journalists who said the commission is kick starting the Hajj Saving Scheme for the next year’s Hajj exercise.

” I actually spoke with the reporters on Hajj Saving scheme but I didn’t specify the date or year of commencement as published by the news distribution medium,” she said.

NAHCON had announced that it will introduce a Hajj Saving Scheme to enable Nigerians save gradually and pick a particular year to perform Hajj.

NAHCON Chairman, Abdullahi May Mohammed who announced the measure had however, said the kick off of the exercise is subject to the approval of the federal government.
He also said a team of trustees would be set up who will manage the fund.
