The National Hajj Commission Of Nigeria (NAHCON), is set to formally launch a Hajj Savings Scheme for intending pilgrims in Nigeria.

The scheme will be launched tommorrow Thursday by the Chairman of NAHCON, Alhaji Zikirillah Kunle Hassan.

The event is slated for 11am at the Hajj House Abuja.

Since his assumption of office, Alhaji Hassan has focussed his attention on the take off of a Hajj savings scheme, similar to what obtains in other countries, notably Malaysia.

He had earlier told the media that the scheme will be launched in conjunction with Jaiz Bank.

The scheme allows individuals to maintain a saving account with Jaiz Bank in which they will at their own pace save enough to enable them travel to perform Hajj.

The NAHCON chairman also said the savings will be invested by the bank and profit from such investments will be shared according to islamic provisions.
He said the goal of the scheme is to reduce the burden on intending pilgrims of having to source for large amount of money to pay for Hajj in a particular year.

The Hajj Saving scheme which has been in the pipeline since the time of Pioneer Chairman of NAHCON Mallam Muhammed Musa Bello will finally take off.

Hajj Reporters will provide updates of the launch.
